Boat Dive (Magician)

Magician Scuba is the best and most cost-effective dive charter operation in the San Pedro area, providing our customers with superior quality, convenience and service. We provide Single and Multi-day Dive trips to Catalina, Santa Barbara, San Clemente and San Nicolas Islands including Begg Rock, Cortes & Farnsworth Banks. The Magician now provides 32% NITROX fills for NITROX certified divers for an extra charge. You can use any tank with our membrane system, O2 clean tanks are not required.

Meeting Location: LA Harbor Sportfishing - 1150 Nagoya Way, San Pedro, CA 90731
Boat Departs: 7:00 AM (MUST check-in by 6:30 AM)

Directions:
  • Take I-110 South
  • Merge onto CA-47 N toward VINCENT THOMAS BR / TERMINAL IS / LONG BEACH.
  • Get in the far right lane and take the Harbor Blvd exit. Do not get on the bridge!
  • At the bottom of the off-ramp make a right turn onto Harbor Blvd.
  • Make a left turn onto 6th Street.
  • Make a right turn onto Sampson Way
  • Make a left turn onto Nagoya Way.
  • The boat will be on the left just before LA Sportfishing. Unload and park.

Boat Dive (Bottom Scratcher)

Our very popular Bottom Scratcher charters offer you a full day of Catalinia diving, as well as 3 meals! Depending on dive conditions, locations may include Ship Rock, Isthmus Cove, Bird Rock, Rock Quary, or other beautiful Catalina dive sites.

Meeting Location: Pier C Berth 55, Long Beach
Boat Departs: 7:00 AM (MUST check-in by 6:30 AM)
Cost: $149.00
Directions:
  • From the 405 Freeway, take 710 Long Beach Freeway SOUTH
  • Pass Anaheim Street offramp
  • Stay in the right lane to Pico Avenue
  • Exit Pico Avenue and turn right at end of offramp (stoplight)
  • Continue until you come to Long Beach Sportfishing - Pier C, Berth 55
  • Turn right, into parking lot to the boat
  • Unload Gear in 20-minute parking near the picnic tables
  • Permanently park where the sign says "Sportfishing Parking"

Boat Dive (Sundiver)

Just added for 2007, Sundiver charters offer you a full day of Catalinia diving, as well as 3 meals! Depending on dive conditions, locations may include Ship Rock, Isthmus Cove, Bird Rock, Rock Quary, or other beautiful Catalina dive sites.

Meeting Location:Alamitos Bay Landing, 160 Marina Drive, Long Beach, CA 92803
Boat Departs: 7:00 AM (MUST check-in by 6:30 AM) For Catalina/Boat Leaves night before for San Clemente Trips - Call Beach Cities Scuba for more information.
Cost: $149.00 Catalina/$199.00 for San Clemente
Directions:

  • From the 405 Freeway North or 605 South, take the CA 22 West/7th Street exit
  • then take Studebaker exit headed South.
  • From the 405 Freeway South, take Studebaker South
  • Once on Studebaker follow until it ends at Second Street
  • Make a right onto Second Street
  • At the third signal (Marina Drive), make a left and follow until the street seems to end at Alamitos Bay Landing
  • Parking is located on the right by the restaurants.
  • When you park be careful as a few of the spots are for loading and short term parking only.
  • The Sundiver is located directly behind McKenna's Restaurant.

Boat Dive (Island Time)

For those who prefer a shorter trip, our Island Time half-day charters provide two dives at Catalina Island. Dive sites vary depending on weather conditions, but you can't go wrong diving beautiful Catalina!

Meeting Location: Marina Drive, Long Beach
Cost: $109.00
Directions:
  • From 405 or 605 Freeways, take 7th Street/Studebaker exit (SOUTH)
  • Follow Studebaker Road to the end and make a right onto Westminister Avenue
  • Turn left at the third signal onto Marina Drive
  • Follow Marina Drive until it ends at Alamitos Boat Landing
  • The Island Time and parking are to the right near the restaurants
  • Permanently park outside of loading/short-term area

Boat Dive (Dive Connections)

Dive Connections offers trips to the awesome dives of San Diego. Charters are availible every week to a variety of sites, including the famous Wrek Alley dives of the HMCS Yukon and the Ruby E. Other trips include the magical giant kelp forests.

    From the I-5:
  • Take Sea World Drive exit WEST
  • Drive past the Sea World Park entrance road
  • Take the West Mission Bay Drive exit and stay to the right
  • Go through the loop and turn left at the first stop light
  • Yield at the "T" and immediately turn left again
  • At end of road (1 mile), turn right into parking lot before entering the loop at Hospitality Point

Some of our great Dive locations

Wreck Alley
Located just one mile off the Pacific Beach coast. This recreational dive area has been an ongoing project by the San Diego Diving Council and the California Department of Fish and Game since 1986.

HMCS Yukon
A 366' Canadian Destroyer Escort, lies in 100 feet of water at a 90 degree angle Port side down. Extensive preparation allows complete penetration of the ship. Sunk: July 2000.

Ruby E
A 165' retired Coast Guard Cutter lies upright in 85' of water. Completely blanketed with strawberry anemones, the ship appears to be a float in a parade. Easy access for penetration. Sunk: July 1989

El Ray
This 110' kelp cutter lies in 90' of water. Although mostly collapsed, this site teams with sea life. Little to no penetration. Sunk: 1986

Giant Kelp Forest
Glide through the underwater forests of Point Loma and La Jolla in depths ranging from 20 to 80 feet. Large rocky reef bottoms covered by thick kelp canopies provide homes for a wide variety of creatures.

Beach Cities Scuba Centers are 5 Star instructor development centers.  We are the largest independent full service scuba dive centers in Orange County and have held this rating longer than any other development center in Orange County.  We offer all levels of scuba dive training and services from instruction and rentals to repairs and travel.
