Emergency First Response

Emergency First Response is a class for anybody – whether or not you are a SCUBA diver. This class combines CPR with basic first aid techniques to teach you to handle most emergency situations you might encounter. Upon completion of training, you will have the confidence to manage or assist with a medical situation until Paramedics arrive at the scene of an emergency. Some of the topics covered in this class are:

Primary Assessment CPR
General Patient Care Concepts Primary
Assessment
Clearing of Obstructed Airways Injury Assessment
Control of Bleeding Cold & Heat Exposures
Shock Management Lifting & Moving
Illness Assessment Wounds & Bandaging
Snakebites Electrical Injuries
Symptoms of various diseases, such as:

  • Heart problems
  • Stroke
  • Allergic Reactions
  • Diabetic Emergencies
  • Epileptic Seizures
  • Poisoning
What to do with:

  • Fractures
  • Head Injuries
  • Chest Injuries
  • Neck & Back Injuries
  • Eye Injuries

This interesting and challenging class teaches you through instructor presentations, scenario exercises, mannequin practice, and working with other students. Your progress will be evaluated through quizzes and a final exam, as well as practical demonstrations along the way.
